JOB SUMMARY: The Respiratory Clinical Manager (RCM) is accountable for the daily (shift) operational management of the respiratory department, and for assisting the Director of Respiratory Care (DRC) with human resource, quality, and financial management of the department. The RCM oversees clinical operations and care delivery on an assigned shift. The RCM serves as a clinical leader in the respiratory care department. This manager assists the DRC with the implementation of plans and policies, and adherence to standards in the department. The RCM assists with evaluation and reports relevant to achievement of goals. The RCM is accountable for coaching respiratory care personnel in implementing specific HCHD guided practices and facilitates achievement of targeted outcomes. The RCM provides oversight to ensure area care delivery, quality management, and staff utilization patterns are congruent with HCHD organizational goals. In addition, this manager facilitates actualization of shared governance and practice level advancement of area personnel. The RCM has the authority to make operational and human resource decisions relevant to his or her assigned shift as long as decisions are consistent with district and departmental policies, standards, and guidelines.
