Skills / Requirements

Responsible for providing effective leadership and program direction to the quality resource management division of the Quality Management Services Department. Provides for the development, coordination and integration of both the quality and utilization management activities within the Correctional Health organization. Acts as an information resource for committees and departments. Works with all Medical Staff Services, Nursing and Allied Health and/or Support services to ensure successful resolution and outcome. Skilled in a leading a diverse group of individuals performing a variety of functions. Serves as a change agent.

Minimum Qualifications
Degree: Bachelor of Science in Nursing

Licenses & Certifications
a. National Commission on Correctional Health Care ' CCHP Certification
Other certificates as required by unit/service.
b. RN- Licensed to practice in State of Texas
c. Cert Prof in Health Care Quality
d. Basic Life Support from a hospital-based American Heart Association (AHA) approved program.

Work Experience: Two (2) Years experience in Utilization Management. Three (3) Years experience in Hospital Correctional health related quality assessment and performance improvement program development inclusive of medical staff performance improvement, Preferred. Five (5) Years experience clinical experience.

Management Experience: Three (3) Years of of management experience in a clinical setting. Minimum staff compilation. Not less than 6 professionals and other supportive staff.

Communication Skills: Exceptional Verbal (Public Speaking), Writing/Correspondence

Proficiencies: MS Word, Personal Computer, Typing- between 30 & 39 Words Per Minute

Other Special Requirements: May require extended hours in addition to weekend/holidays for special projects. Team player. Ability to plan, organize and successfully implement programs that will not only maintain compliance with established standards but improve systems and/or processes. Working knowledge of externally mandated Quality Management program requirements (state and federal; DNV; regulatory and licensing agencies etc.). Demonstrated leadership ability. Proven ability to manage complex information and situations successfully.
