JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for the microscopic assessment and evaluation of gynecological and non-gynecological specimens, primarily for the diagnosis of malignant and pre-malignant conditions. Other responsibilities include gynecological and non-gynecological processing, FNA collection and preparation and participation in Quality Assurance and Quality Control activities. Proficiency testing and continuing education required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Specialized Training/Licensure: BS Degree and successful completion of an accredited Cytotechnology program
Work Experience (Years and Area): If certified by ASCP (or equivalent accrediting agency), no experience required. If not certified by ASCP (or equivalent accrediting agency), two (2) years of experience as a Cytotechnologist is required.
