Job Summary - CORRECTIONAL HEALTH

The Dental Director will be responsible for providing comprehensive dental care services to dental patients, as well as, administrative duties, for the Harris County Jail.  This position is 80% clinical and 20% administrative.  Administrative duties include, quality assurance program, policy and procedure creation/review, dental standards of care and protocol implementation, and monitoring benchmarks. 

Minimum Qualifications

Degrees:
Doctor of Dental Services (DDS) ' Required
Advanced training (GPR, AEGD) - preferred

Licenses & Certification:
Texas State Board of Dental Examiners
Certified Correctional Healthcare Professional (CCHP) certification is to be completed within one (1) year, if not held at the time of appointment.

Work Experience:
Three (3) years of direct dental services experience.

Management Experience:
Two (2) years of experience with Oversight of dentists and dental assistants.

Communication Skills: Above average Verbal Communication (Heavy Public Contact), Exceptional Verbal (Public Speaking), Writing/ Correspondence, Writing/ Reports

Proficiencies: MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook,
