Director of Operations-Patient Flow

JOB SUMMARY:
This Director, Operations -Patient Flow will be the strategic and operational leader over the newly created Patient Flow Command Center (PFCC) within Care Transitions and Integration. The PFCC provides a fundamental shift in how Harris Health manages patient flow, bed utilization, and hospital capacity across Ben Taub and LBJ Hospitals as well as Hospital at Home. The PFCC utilizes real-time data to monitor and make decisions from a centralized system hub, operated by nurses and coordinators to perform bed placement, transfers, and operational dispatching (guest transport, EVS and language services). This position will work in tandem and collaboration with all three acute pavilions as well as the clinical PFCC leadership. Director of Operations directs and oversees all operations of the department as directed by Executive Management. Assists with directing, mentoring, and coaching of management and staff and the development of processes, policies, and procedures to ensure department functions are carried out in a timely, accurate, efficient, and customer service-oriented manner. Maintains knowledge base of current government and non-government healthcare compliance requirements, ensuring Harris Health System remains compliant. Collaborates with Harris Health leadership to ensure efficient processes are in place to support patient care functions and optimal outcomes. This role requires at least 10 years' experience with patient flow.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Education/Specialized Training/Licensure:
Bachelor's degree in business, Healthcare, or related field
OR
High School Diploma or GED AND Nine (9) years of work experience of related experience
2. Work Experience (Years and Area): Five (5) years of experience
3. Management Experience (Years and Area): Four (4) years management experience.
4. Equipment Operated: PC, General Office Equipment
