HR Internal Communications Specialist

JOB SUMMARY:   Develops and implements the communications strategy and content across the Human Resources organization to promote awareness of the organization's employee value proposition, supports employee engagement, ensures effective and consistent HR communications, and manages ongoing function of policy review and updates. Provides communications counsel to the HR leadership team. Serves as an active participant in issues management, interacts with multiple internal HR partners to drive relevant and engaging communications, while ensuring a coherent HR communication strategy is developed and administered.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:   

Education/Specialized Training/Licensure:  B.A./B.S. in HR, Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or related field.

Work Experience (Years and Area):  Five (5) years of functional/professional experience in an HR setting, including two (2) years handling and/or assisting with HR communications and at least one (1) year doing policy revisions and or updates.

Management Experience (Years and Area):Two (2) years of general project management experience, preferably in an HR environment

Equipment Operated:  Standard Office Equipment

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:   

Communication Skills:  Above Average Verbal (Heavy Public Contact); Writing /Composing: Correspondence / Reports

Other Skills:  Analytical; Research; MS Word; MS Excel

Work Schedule:   Flexible; Telework

Other Requirements:  Strong working knowledge of Microsoft applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook); experience with various page layout software such as Adobe and/or QuarkXPress preferred;  working knowledge of HR functions, change management, and organizational design. Must demonstrate the ability to provide strategic communications counsel to executive and senior management. Must have ability to develop and leverage multiple communication channels including but not limited to email, guideline documents, inter-office memorandum, presentations and intranet content.
