Job Summary
The MFM Sonographer Educator III is an advanced sonographer who plays a vital role in maternal-fetal medicine by independently performing complex diagnostic ultrasound procedures. This position requires an advanced knowledge base, superior technical skills, and a deep understanding of maternal-fetal medicine ultrasound. Operating under physician supervision, the MFM Sonographer Educator III provides essential clinical information for patient diagnosis and treatment, while also ensuring the highest standards of care. In addition to direct patient care, this role is responsible for mentoring, training, and guiding sonographers by developing and implementing best practices. The MFM Sonographer Educator III actively contributes to quality improvement initiatives, advanced clinical education, and the integration of new technologies and protocols within the department.
Minimum Qualifications
Education/Specialized Training/Licensure:
a. Associates Degree (graduate of an accredited medical sonography program)
b. Basic Life Support from approved American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) Program
c. American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography RDMS in OBGYN specialty
d. American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography RDMS in Fetal Echocardiology (FE) specialty (Preferred)
e. Cervical length certification (Preferred)
Work Experience:
Three (3) Years Work Experience in MFM ultrasound scanning.

1.Advanced MFM Ultrasound Experience: Demonstrates advanced knowledge and skill in maternal-fetal medicine ultrasound, including routine and complex studies, advanced techniques (e.g. eSTIC, VCI, Omniview), and adherence to departmental protocols and AIUM standards.
2.Leadership & Departmental Oversight: Serves as charge of the department when assigned, ensuring smooth daily operations and workflow, and assisting others to reduce delays.
3.Effective Communication & Team Building: Exhibits advanced communication skills, both verbal and written, fostering positive relations with clinicians, patients, staff, and learners.
4.Mentorship & Training: Functions as trainer during new employee orientation, mentors sonographers, and provides training and guidance to fellows and students, supporting competency documentation and progress.
5.Clinical Judgment & Problem Solving: Applies sound logic and judgment to evaluate situations, troubleshoot equipment issues, and determine optimal imaging strategies for high-quality results.
6.Quality Assurance & Performance: Maintains consistent QA scores of 90% or greater, participates in quality improvement programs, and may evaluate other sonographers images and perform quality checks.
