OPS Manager/Engineer-Day (Plant)

JOB SUMMARY:   Exhibit a strong, self motivated work ethic.  Possess the effectiveness to plan, organize, direct and supervise assigned activities of the Engineering Department/Service function which are necessary in maintaining the physical structure, HVAC, mechanical, electrical systems, fire alarm systems, utilities and grounds of the hospital in and operative and safe working condition.  This position may have the need to manage multiple site operations. Be accountable to the Director for planning and maintaining an effective organization, for administering labor and material controls, for training of maintenance personnel on safety and for effective management practices.  Have effective communication skills at all organizational levels; possess knowledge of the Life Safety Code® and Regulatory Compliance.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:   

Education/Specialized Training/Licensure:  Associates Degree in Engineering, Management, Business or a related field.  Bachelor's degree in Business preferred.  Certified Healthcare Facility Manager/CHFM, HVAC, Electrical, Stationary Engineering or other certification/licenses preferred

Work Experience (Years and Area):  Five plus years hospital or related work experience preferred, familiar with healthcare operations, Budgeting, Regulatory Agency Requirements such as TJC, DNV, TDSHS, CARF, and NFPA

Management Experience (Years and Area):Five plus years experiences of supervisory level in engineering maintenance.

Equipment Operated:  Valid Texas Drivers License preferred.

Other Skills:  Analytical; Mathematics; Typing; P.C.; MS Word; MS Excel; CMMS Access

Work Schedule:  Flexible; Travel

Other Requirements:  Extended education and knowledge of utility systems, MEPF, Infrastructure, (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire protection), Other licenses such as Boiler operator preferred.
