Job Summary

The Gastroenterology Technician II (GT II) proficiently performs a variety of activities that support the nursing and medical staff of the GI Lab, which includes preparing supplies, equipment, and room for procedures; handling of specimen and cleaning/disinfecting scopes and other equipment according to standards; and troubleshooting equipment appropriately. The GT II demonstrates and role models personal and professional effectiveness.

Minimum Qualifications

Degrees / Work Experience:

High School diploma or equivalent and One (1) Year Work Experience in gastroenterology and/or another endoscopy certificate program (ie - Surg Tech Program) and Endoscopy Technician Program (OR) Society of Gastroenterology Nurses and Associates (SGNA) Program or SGNA Advanced Associates Program.

Licensure/Certifications:

Basic Life Support from a hospital-based American Heart Association (AHA) or Red Cross approved program.

Communication Skills:
Above Average Verbal (Heavy Public Contact)

Proficiencies: Personal Computer
