Job Summary

The Chief of Staff provides support for the Correctional Health Medical Director and Chief Medical Officer. This includes performing medical necessity reviews, with peer-to-peer interactions as needed; appeals of adverse determinations; some clinical input and oversight for Care (Disease) Management, Quality Improvement, Credentialing, and Preventive Medicine programs; working with Provider Relations to maintain and improve relationships with the provider community; and other duties as assigned by the Medical Director Correctional Health or the CMO Correctional Health.

Minimum Qualifications

Education/Specialized Training/Licensure:
a) Board Certified Nurse Practitioner or Certified Physician Assistant and Licensure in the State of Texas
b) Master's Degree in Public Health, Business Administration or Medical Administration preferred.
c) CCHP within 2 years of hire

Work Experience:
a) Five (5) Years of Experience: Clinical experience

Management Experience:
a) Three (3) Years Management Experience with (1) one year of administrative experience in management of a private or group practice, facility, or other similar administrative experience in a facility Preferably Correctional Health Care setting.

Communication Skills:
a) Above average Verbal Communication (Heavy Public Contact)
b) Exceptional Verbal (Public Speaking)
c) Writing/ Correspondence
d) Writing/ Reports

Proficiencies:
a) Personal Computer:
I. Familiarity with basic computer business programs: Microsoft Office - Word; Excel
II. Electronic Medical Record: Epic
