Cancer Registry Data Specialist (Cancer Conference /Tumor Board Experience)

JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for coordinating and maintaining cancer conference meeting records and attendance in accordance with American College of Surgeons (ACOS) Commission on Cancer (CoC) ACOS Cancer Program standards. Identifies and maintains records of all cancer patients by utilizing various data sources and cancer registry database. Performs data collection, case finding, and patient follow-up, in addition to supporting other functions related to the cancer registry.
Education: High School Diploma or GED
Work Experience: Two (2) years experience In Cancer Program performing case identification, follow-up, and cancer conference activities. Preferably, experience within an ACOS approved program.
Exceptional Verbal (e.g., Public Speaking)
Proficiencies: P.C, Typing
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Analytical Abilities, Medical Terminology Knowledge
Equipment Operated: Basic Desktop Computer knowledge
Other Requirements: Knowledge of anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, ICD-9 and TNM coding.
Proficiency with cancer registry software. Familiarity with ACOS/COC cancer program standards.
