Job Summary - CORRECTIONAL HEALTH

The Clinical Dietitian provides nutrition education and medical nutrition therapy to patients, working closely with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to maximize patients nutritional status and improve clinical outcomes. Primary responsibilities include managing the daily schedule to maximize patient care, and providing evidenced-based and patient-centered nutrition care to patients. Additional responsibilities may include assisting with projects, presentations and in-services, along with training new dietitian staff and dietetic interns after one year of clinical experience.

Minimum Qualifications

Degrees:
Bachelors of Dietetics, Food Science or Nutrition required;
Masters of Dietetics, Food Science or Nutrition preferred.

Licenses & Certification:
Registered Dietitian prior to hire
Licensed Dietitian (LD) State of Texas within 60 days of hire
Eligible certifications: Advanced Practitioner Certification in Clinical Nutrition (RDN-AP), Board Certification as a Specialist in Renal Nutrition (CSR); Board Certified Specialist in Obesity and Weight Management (CSOWM); Board Certification in Oncology Nutrition (CSO); Board Certified Specialist in Pediatric Nutrition (CSP); Certified Nutrition Support Clinician (CNSC); Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES), Board Certified-Advanced Diabetes Management (BC-ADM) preferred.

Work Experience: One year experience in Dietetics/Nutrition preferred.

Above Average Verbal (Heavy Public Contact/Public Speaking);
Exceptional Verbal (Public Speaking)

Language Skills: Spanish preferred

Proficiencies: MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, MS Outlook, PC
