JOB SUMMARY:
The Respiratory Clinical Manager (RCM) is accountable for the daily (shift) operational management of the respiratory department, and for assisting the Director of Respiratory Care (DRC) with human resource, quality, and financial management of the department. The RCM oversees clinical operations and care delivery on an assigned shift. The RCM serves as a clinical leader in the respiratory care department. This manager assists the DRC with the implementation of plans and policies, and adherence to standards in the department. The RCM assists with evaluation and reports relevant to achievement of goals. The RCM is accountable for coaching respiratory care personnel in implementing specific HCHD guided practices and facilitates achievement of targeted outcomes. The RCM provides oversight to ensure area care delivery, quality management, and staff utilization patterns are congruent with HCHD organizational goals. In addition, this manager facilitates actualization of shared governance and practice level advancement of area personnel. The RCM has the authority to make operational and human resource decisions relevant to his or her assigned shift as long as decisions are consistent with district and departmental policies, standards, and guidelines.

The RCM is responsible for facilitating an environment that supports professional practice and empowers RCP to provide safe, effective, compassionate, and efficient respiratory care in collaboration with all health care disciplines. The RCM ensures compliance with standards established by professional respiratory care organizations; national, state, and local regulatory agencies; and institutional policies and procedures. The RCM is accountable for respiratory care practice that upholds high standards of integrity and ethical behavior. The RCM mentors others, role models professionalism, and participation in activities such as respiratory organizations, and research.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Degree
Bachelor's Degree - Graduate of a Respiratory Care program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC) or other accrediting body approved by the advisory board.

Licensure/Certification:
Adv. Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA)
Basic Life Support - (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA)
Neonatal Resuscitation Program from American Association of Pediatrics (AAP), Preferred
Respiratory Care Practitioner - Respiratory Care Practitioner from the Texas Medical Board
Registered Respiratory Therapist -Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) from the National Board for Respiratory Care

Work Experience: Five (5) years of work experience in related clinical area of practice.

Management Experience: Three (3) Years of Management Experience in a related management/leadership experience
