Job Summary:
The Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer I (DCS I) is competent in providing high quality cardiac ultrasound images of the heart and great vessels, assessment of myocardial function, recording of hemodynamic measurements, and visualization of blood flow using 2D, M-mode, color-flow and spectral Doppler. The DCS I performs Stress Echocardiograms, Dobutamine Stress Echo, and assists with Transesophageal Echocardiograms. The DCS I retrieves, communicates, and presents information in a written, oral or visual fashion.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education/Licensure/Specialized Training: Graduation from a CAHEP accredited Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer program. Two (2) years of hospital experience preferred. Current Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) through ARDMS or CCI. Certified and current in Basic Life Support (CPR) through the American Heart Association. Other certificates as required by unit/service.
Equipment Operated: Various ultrasound and cardiology related machines.
