Job Summary

The Director of Infection Prevention (DIP) is responsible for the coordination and leadership of the Harris Health Infection Prevention and Control Program at their assigned pavilion. They are responsible for the management of the pavilion's Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) department, providing guidance, direction, and oversight of all activities within the team. They facilitate the achievement and sustainment of IPC targets, serve as a consultant and mentor to Infection Preventionists (IPs), collaborate to address gaps and opportunities, and assist with the development of interventions to ensure success in achieving IPC department, pavilion, and organizational goals. The Director functions as the subject matter expert in the prevention of infection and is responsible for the planning, implementation, and coordination of the Infection Prevention Plan. The DIP works with all Medical Staff Services, Nursing and Allied Health and/or Support services at the pavilion to promote successful resolution and outcomes. They are skilled in managing a diverse group of individuals performing a variety of functions and serve as a change agent.

Minimum Qualifications

Degrees:
- Bachelor's Degree
- Master of Science in Nursing, Master of Public Health or relevant healthcare field.

License & Certification:
- Certified Infection Control and/or Fellow APIC (Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology) required.
- Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt
- Certified Healthcare Infection Prevention Professional (CHIPP-B) Preferred

Work Experience:
- Seven (7) Years Work Experience: Nursing, Epidemiology, Public Health, Healthcare delivery, Laboratory Sciences, or related field is required.
- Five (5) Years Work Experience: of Infection Prevention experience required

Management Experience:
- Five (5) Years Management Experience: in management or leadership in hospital acute care or clinical setting

- Above average Verbal Communication (Heavy Public Contact)
