Director of IT Data Integration and MDM

JOB SUMMARY 


The Director of IT Data Integration & Master Data Management (MDM) services as a strategic enterprise leader responsible for shaping and executing the organizations' data integration and governance strategy. This role ensures seamless, secure, and compliant data exchange across all internal systems and external partners while driving the enterprise-wide adoption of data as a strategic asset. 
The Director will oversee integration and MDM operations while actively partnering with executive leadership, business stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to align data initiatives with organizational goals, optimize business processes, and support regulatory and compliance requirements. 
This leader will champion innovative approaches to data integration and governance, ensuring that Community leverages trusted, high-quality data to enhance decision-making, operational efficiency, and member outcomes. The Director will mentor and develop technical teams, promote a culture of transparency and collaboration, and provide thought leadership on emerging data and healthcare IT trends to position the organization for long-term growth and competitive advantage. 


JOB SPECIFICATIONS AND CORE COMPETENCIES
 

Integration & Data Operations:
 

Lead and manage the Integration Team handling interfaces, APIs, ETL processes, and secure file transfers. 
      Ensure up time, performance, and proactive monitoring of all integration points across internal and external systems. 
Partner with business process owners across all departments to identify opportunities where data integration can optimize workflows, enhance decision-making, and reduce operational inefficiencies. 
Implement enterprise-wide operational standards and SLAs to reduce downtime and ensure scalable, proactive support workflows. 

Master Data Management (MDM) & Data Governance:


Own the implementation, maintenance, and evolution of the Informatica MDM platform
Drive enterprise-wide adoption of MDM practices, promoting data as a strategic asset to enable consistent and informed decision-making across Member, Provider, Broker, Clinical, and financial domains.
Collaborate with data stewards and business leads to define data rules, improve governance practices, and influence business process optimization through trusted data. 

Compliance, Reporting & Regulatory Support:


Ensure timely and accurate data submissions to regulatory agencies (e.g., HHSC, CMS). 
Partner with Compliance, Finance, and Reporting teams to align IT systems with state and federal mandates. 
Proactively monitor regulatory changes, evaluate their impact on enterprise data strategies, and recommend enhancements to ensure future readiness.

Leadership, Planning & Stakeholder Engagement:

 
Serve as a strategic partner to executive leadership by aligning data integration and governance strategies with organizational goals and growth initiatives. 
Influence organizational change by communicating the strategic value of trusted data to senior executives and business leaders. 
Collaborate with cross-functional leaders to prioritize data initiatives, ensuring alignment with operational and long-term strategic goals. 
Develop and mentor technical teams, promoting a culture of transparency, collaboration, and high performance. 
Provide thought leadership on emerging data integration and governance technologies to enhance organizational agility and competitiveness.

QUALIFICATIONS: 
 

Education/Specialized Training/Licensure: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field required.

Master's degree preferred.

Work Experience (Years and Area): 

5+ years of experience with data integration, MDM, or enterprise data ops required.

Healthcare industry experience (payer or provider) required.

Familiarity with Texas HHSC systems and Medicaid data workflows. Direct experience submitting regulatory reports to CMS and state agencies. Payer Experience preferred. 

Management Experience (Years and Area): 

8+ years of IT experience, with at least 3+ years in a leadership role required.

Experience in a small to mid-sized health plan or community-based organization preferred.

Software Proficiencies: 

Technical knowledge of APIs, ETL, SFTP, and integration platforms including EDI standards required.

Experience with Informatica MDM or other enterprise MDM tools preferred.

Other:
 

Strong understanding of HIPAA and healthcare data security standards
Proven ability to lead technical teams in hybrid support/project settings
Exceptional leadership, vendor management, and executive communication skills.

Certification in data management (e.g., CDMP, Informatica Data Governance) preferred.
