Skills / Requirements

JOB SUMMARY:   Plans, and directs all administrative functions and performance of routine and special diagnostic testing in Ambulatory Care Services (ACS) laboratories. Confers with Administration, Medical Director, and Medical staff to ascertain Harris Health System needs related to ACS laboratory services while ensuring activities are in accordance with College of American Pathologists (CAP), Joint Commission (JC), and other regulatory standards.


1. Education/Specialized Training/Licensure: B.S. Degree in Medical Technology \ASCP certification

2. Work Experience (Years and Area): 7 yrs. experience as a general Medical Technologist

3. Management Experience (Years and Area): 5 years of progressively responsible supervisory and management experience in Clinic based laboratories.

4. Equipment Operated: Laboratory analyzers, PC, printers, scanners

Bilingual Skills Required:  No
Writing /Composing        (Correspondence /  Reports)

2.  Other Skills:

Analytical       Research     P.C.

3.  Advanced Education:
Bachelor's Degree  Major: Med Tech certified or Clinical Certification by ASCP or NCA
Master's Degree Major: MBA preferred
