Job Summary
The Chief Medical Executive serves as the corporate physician leader to the medical staff and is a senior administration team member. S/he is responsible for leading Harris Health's strategic journey to become a high reliability organization, to provide high quality, safe healthcare services, to manage utilization, and to maintain compliance with regulatory clinical requirements. S/he is comfortable operating in a highly matrixed environment and has effective interpersonal relationship skills. This leader has a strong understanding of value-based purchasing and can analyze and enact changes based on quality and utilization data.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
Master's Degree - An advanced degree in Business Administration or Healthcare (MBA, MMM, MHA) preferred or must complete within four years of hire date
Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine
Licenses and Certifications:
Texas medical license (M.D. or D.O), and DEA or DPS
Board Certification via ABMS preferred
Work Experience:
Ten (10) years post-residency clinical experience; (And) five (5) years of progressive experience in medical leadership in an academic, matrixed environment.
Management Experience:
Five (5) years of progressive Leadership experience at the senior management level
Communication Skills:
Above Average Verbal Communication (Heavy Public Contact)

Must be able to demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills. Must be familiar with value-based purchasing, data compilation, and data analysis. Must be able to demonstrate patient centered/patient valued behaviors. Knowledge of state, federal, and regulatory requirements, including CMS and DNV.
