Job Summary

The Gastroenterology Technician II (GT II) proficiently performs a variety of activities that support the nursing and medical staff of the GI Lab, which includes preparing supplies, equipment, and room for procedures; handling of specimen and cleaning/disinfecting scopes and other equipment according to standards; and troubleshooting equipment appropriately. The GT II demonstrates and role models personal and professional effectiveness.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: High School diploma (And) Endoscopy Technician Program; Surgical Technologist Program may substitute graduation from an accredited school of Surgical Technology.

Licensure/Certification:
a.) Certificate Completion of Society of Gastroenterology Nurses and Associates (SGNA) Program (And/or) completion of SGNA Advanced Associates Program.
b.)Basic Life Support from a hospital-based American Heart Association (AHA) approved program.

Work Experience: One (1) year work experience GI endoscopy assisting with advanced procedures such as ERCPs. May substitute graduation from Endoscopy Technician Program.

Communication Skills: Above Average Verbal Communication (Heavy Public Contact)

Proficiencies: Personal Computer
