Job Summary
The Informatics Nurse Specialist (INS) is is responsible for the assessment, planning, training, implementation, evaluation and optimization of clinical informatics projects/initiatives. INS serves as the primary interface between nursing, allied health, business, compliance, quality, physicians and Information Technology to ensure interdisciplinary project/initiative coordination and standardization. INS also participates in selection, facilitation, communication, development, testing, training and planning regarding system implementations and integration with other Harris Health initiatives. INS is knowledgeable about the nursing workflows, process, nursing practice, relevant regulatory mandates, and principles of quality/safety improvement. INS ensures technology projects/initiatives are planned and implemented using evidence-based practices for planning, understanding, guiding and delivering responsible nursing care resulting in quality patient outcomes. The INS adheres to the ANA Nursing Informatics Scope and Standards of Practice.

Minimum Qualifications

Degrees:
Bachelors in Nursing; MSN/Masters in Informatics required; if MSN/Masters in informatics is not held a Postmaster's certificate in Nursing Informatics required.

Licenses & Certification: Registered Nurse, Nursing Informatics Certification

Work Experience: Five (5) years of clinical experience with three (3) years of informatics experience

Writing/ Reports

Proficiencies: MS Word,MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, MS Outlook, PC, Typing

Knowledge of current literature that impacts technology/information needs as well as financial management
