Skills / Requirements
The Learning Specialist responsibilities will be to instruct American Heart Association (AHA) courses in Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiovascular Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, First Aid and other classes to employees. The position is responsible for providing high quality instructions to employees while demonstrating professionalism and accountability. Instruction will be to participants renewing certification or obtaining it for the first time.
Certifications from the American Heart Association in the disciplines of Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
Education/Specialized Training/Licensure: B.S/B.A. degree in an Allied Health Discipline. Certification/License for discipline, Emergency Medical Technician, Advanced healthcare provider (AEMT, Paramedic,RN). Ability to teach effectively in a learning environment. American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, PALS instructor certifications.
Work Experience: Three (3) years teaching experience and certification American Heart Association protocols.

Advanced Education:Advance Training (Specialty): AHA certifications in BLS, ACLS, and PALS.

Responsible for classroom and clinical instruction of participants to include but not limited to: planning, developing and providing creative classroom and clinical learning experiences; teaching, coaching and mentoring in the classroom; writing and evaluating outcome based tests and competency performance assessments related to theory; writing, observing and evaluating competency performance exams; tutoring of and practicing with participants; and evaluating participant performance. Knowledge of education curricula and ability to provide instruction (teach). Ability to develop, manage and facilitate education programs. Ability to provide instruction in multiple methodologies, including but not limited to traditional classroom, teleconference, and web-based.
