Harris Health System seeks a talented leader as Manager Strategic Initiatives to join its department of Population Health Transformation, which has oversight of the system's transformative model of care encompassing the continuum of care coordination, social determinants of health, value-based financing strategies, community collaboration and outreach, and research and analytics. This manager will collaborate in a fast-paced team environment to support the assessment, design, and evaluation of high-priority, system-wide initiatives to impact the social, economic, and behavioral determinants of health, with a focus on high-risk populations. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate strong subject matter expertise; experience in data analysis and evaluation; outstanding critical thinking, communication, and team management skills; and a commitment to the diverse families and communities we serve as the fourth largest safety-net health care system in the nation.


Degrees
Masters MPH, MHA, MBA, or related 


Work Experience
Four (4) Years Relevant experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies and knowledge to succeed in the duties of the position, including: 

  • Experience supporting the design and/or implementation of population health interventions and in analyzing key trends in population health science and care delivery reform 
  • Familiarity with population health, public health, and/or clinical quality metrics and evaluation methodologies                                
  • Excellent analytic and communication skills, including the ability to write clearly and persuasively, to tailor communication for various audiences, and to facilitate understanding of complex or technical concepts;                          
  • Diligence, attention to detail, and an unwavering commitment to high-quality work.
     

Management Experience

  • Two (2) Years of Management Experience
  • Experience managing complex initiatives requiring a range of project and staff management skills, including the ability to sequence and prioritize deliverables, to coach, mentor, and delegate effectively to team members, and to advance organizational priorities with accountability and monitoring of performance.

Communication Skills

  • Above Average Verbal Communication (Heavy Public Contact)

Typical Duties That May Be Performed
1. In coordination with organizational stakeholders, lead the assessment of patient, community, and health system needs and resources to identify priority areas for population health action, with a focus on high-risk populations. 
2. Support the research, design, and evaluation of evidence-based interventions across the public health, health care, and social services sectors to impact the determinants of health for our patients. 
3. Foster strong, mutually beneficial partnerships in support of a sustainable care model, including collaborating in a team-based setting to support financing and implementation of priority initiatives. 
4. Assist in engaging, mentoring, and retaining talented staff in service of strategic vision and goals. 
5. Other duties as assigned to support Harris Health's population health strategy. 
6. Deliver exceptional customer service by embracing ServiceFIRST standards of behavior during all patient, visitor and staff encounters. 
7. Work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver patient/customer services that meet or exceed patient expectations as evidenced by patient satisfaction scores.
