Job Profile

Job Summary
Plans, directs, coordinates and monitors all laboratory Quality initiatives for BT, LBJ and ACS. In conjunction with System Quality leadership as well as BT, LBJ, and ACS laboratory leadership, medical directors, and Administration, ensures all accreditation and regulatory requirements are met in each Harris Health laboratory. Ensures standardization of practice (where applicable), QA/QC practices, and audit reporting in each laboratory modality.

Minimum Qualifications


  • Bachelor's Degree: Medical Technologist/Medical Lab Scientist

Licenses and Certification:

  • Certified by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists or equivalent (ASCP);
  • Must obtain ASQ CQIA, CQPA or CBA certification within one year of hire.
  • American Society for Quality (ASQ) or equivalent; preferred.

Work Experience:

  • Five (5) years work experience in a Laboratory setting.

Management Experience:

  • Three (3) years management experience in a Laboratory setting and
  • two (2) years of quality assurance experience.

Communication Skills: Writing / Correspondence, Writing / Reports

Proficiencies: MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Access

Work Experience: Flexible; ability to audit/observe on off-shifts when needed

Other Requirements: Travel between Harris Health facilities
