Job Summary - CORRECTIONAL HEALTH
Experienced physician with demonstrated leadership experience in the administration of staff to drive positive outcomes in a patient-centric correctional healthcare environment. Responsible for the oversight and management of medical practice in order to ensure and promote high-quality medical care and responsible for all health care delivered at the Harris County Jail sites. Serves as a liaison between the medical/clinical staff, CMO and Harris County Sheriff Office. Coordinates the services of physicians, physician extenders, and other medical professionals working within the medical facilities at the sites. Assists, implements and achieves the goals and objectives for the clinics/center of responsibility. Ensure all services meet or exceed standards required by the Texas Commission on Jails and the National Commission on Correctional Health Care. This role will work collaboratively on a daily basis with the CMO and other leadership. Supervises all aspects of professional medical practice at the Harris County Jail.
Degrees: Doctor of Medicine with current Texas medical license, DEA or DPS
Master's Degree in business administration or healthcare (MBA, MMM, MHA). Preferred
Licenses & Certifications
a. Certificate- Board Certification via ABMS
b. CCHP Certified Correctional Healthcare Professional certification is to be completed within one (1) year, if not held at the time of appointment.
c. CCHP-P Certified Correctional Healthcare Professional ¿ Physician certification to be completed within three (3) years, if not held at the time of appointment.
Work Experience: Five (5) Years Work Experience of post-residency clinical experience. Correctional Health experience is preferred.
Ten (10) Years Work Experience of progressive experience, preferably in an academic, matrixed environment. Knowledge of correctional health operations and managed care concepts is highly preferred.
Management Experience: Five (5) Years of
Management Experience - Management of medical providers. Correctional Health management experience is preferred.
