Skills / Requirements

JOB SUMMARY:  To perform high-quality diagnostic sonography and deliver high-quality patient care utilizing knowledge and judgement in regards to image technique within the scope of maternal-fetal medicine.  A sonographer educator is also expected to regularly participate in the educational objectives of the learners that regularly rotate through the unit.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:    

Education/Specialized Training/Licensure: 

  • Associate's Degree, graduate of an accredited diagnostic medical sonography program
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer with OBGYN specialty from ARDMS
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical/ Cardiac Sonographer with Fetal Echo (FE) specialty from ARDMS (RDMS or RDCS)
  • Cervical length certification preferred
  • Basic Life Support from approved American Heart association AHA OR American red cross (ARC) program

     

Work Experience (Years and Area): 

  • 3 years of MFM ultrasound scanning experience preferred


    Equipment Operated: 
    Ultrasound scanners, PACS, RIS and related clinical equipment

    Above Average Verbal (Heavy Public Contact)  
    Writing /Composing (Correspondence / Reports )

    Other Skills:
    Analytical, CRT, Medical Terms, P.C.

    Advanced Education:  
    Advance Training Specialty: Ultrasound certification (RDMS) with Ob/Gyn specialty. Cervical Length certification.  Fetal Echocardiography RDMS or RDCS
