Job Summary - CORRECTIONAL HEALTH

The Manager of Clinical Nutrition plans, coordinates, and manages the work operations of the clinical nutrition staff. Primary responsibilities include assigning work to and supervising clinical dietitians, Nutrition and Dietetic Technicians Registered (DTR), and medical assistants assigned to the department; establishing and maintaining policies, standards, and programs for the provision of optimal, cost-effective patient care; monitoring clinical dietetic performance for safety, efficacy, and evidenced-based practice; establishing a framework to collect and publish clinical outcomes research; implementing and maintaining cost control procedures; participating in the budget process and meeting budget targets; recruiting, hiring, and orienting staff; interacting with security and medical staff; and maintain professional competency and skills required for professional practice.

Minimum Qualifications

Degrees: Bachelor's Degree in Dietetics, Food Science or Nutrition

Licenses & Certifications:
Licensed Dietitian in the State of Texas
Registered Dietitian RDN
Certified Correctional Healthcare Professional CCHP certification is to be completed within one (1) year, if not held at the time of appointment.

Work Experience: Five (5) Years Work Experience Performing as a Clinical Dietitian

Management Experience:
Three (3) Years of Management Experience in a Lead, Supervisory or Management role in a health care facility or 2 years and a certificate of completion in a management training course

Communication Skills: Above Average Verbal Communication (Heavy Public Contact)
Exceptional Verbal (Public Speaking), Writing/Correspondence, Writing/Reports

Proficiencies: MS Excel, MS Word, Personal Computer
