Skills / Requirements
JOB SUMMARY: Assists the Director of Patient Access in directing, coordinating and supervising the daily operations of the Patient Access Services Department. Manages Patient Access staff, processes, policies, and procedures to ensure Patient Access functions are carried out in a timely, accurate, efficient, and customer service-oriented manner. Manages all activities within the Patient Access department such as, setting and managing department budgets; obtaining patient registration and insurance information; and collecting patient deposits and co-pays.
Education/Specialized Training/Licensure: High School diploma or GED. Bachelor's degree in business, healthcare or related field preferred, or equivalent work experience.
Work Experience (Years and Area): 3-5 years healthcare experience in Patient Access, Patient Accounts, or related area. Knowledge of patient registration / billing system preferred.
Management Experience (Years and Area): 3-5 years supervisory / management experience.
Equipment Operated and Essential Skills: Personal Computer, Microsoft Office applications.
Communication Skills: Above Average Verbal (Heavy Public Contract), Exceptional Verbal (e.g., Public Speaking), Writing /Composing Correspondence, Writing /Composing Reports
Other Skills: Analytical, Mathematics, P.C, Statistical, Typing, Word
