JOB SUMMARY:
The Nurse Clinician IV's (Proficient) knowledge base has been validated through achievement of national certification in specialty area. The NCIV is experienced, knowledgeable and skilled in specialty area and functions as a member of the interdisciplinary team. Practice is characterized by pattern/trend recognition predictive of patient condition changes and indicative of intervention requirements aimed at both short and long term goals. The NC IVs care is wholistic, patient centered and problem focused. Nurse Clinician IV is able to manage unexpected or emergency situations that are commonly seen in assigned specialty population.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Education/Licensure/Specialized Training:
a. Education: Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
b. Licensure/Certification: Licensed to practice Nursing in Texas (RN);
Designated professional nursing certification for clinical specialty in area of practice. Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association (AHA) or Red Cross approved program
Work Experience:
a) Three (3) years of RN experience.
b) Two (2) years experience in specialty area of practice.
Management Experience:
a) One (1) year as a charge nurse, preceptor or clinical leadership role in specialty area of practice.

Above Average Verbal (Heavy Public Contact)
Writing /Composing
Bilingual Skills Preferred - Preferred Languages: any
Special Language Skills
Must be adequate to meet the following communication requirements:
Accurately interprets and transmits clinical information in English, both verbally and in written form; and
Sends and receives messages patients/families/SOs can comprehend.
