Skills / Requirements

The Patient Care Technician (PCT II) is accountable for supporting nursing and medical staff in patient care. The PCT II coordinates activities in outpatient and procedural areas and facilitates a smooth patient flow. The PCT II is proficient in assisting in patient data collection and performs select screenings and technical functions relevant to area/assignment.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: High School diploma or equivalent, completion of an accredited medical/nursing assistant course.
Two (2) years of recent relevant experience in a healthcare facility.

License & Certifications:
Nursing/Medical Assistant or Patient Care Technician II Certification required.
Vision and Hearing Certification, as appropriate to specialty area within six (6) months of hire.
EKG or Sterilization and/or Phlebotomy competency validation required, as applicable to specialty area within six (6) months of hire.
Basic Life Support from a hospital-based American Heart Association (AHA) approved program.
Other certificates as required by unit/service.


Special Requirements:
Communication Skills: Above Average Verbal (Heavy Public Contact), PC, CRT, Medical Terms, Research and Writing/Composing Reports

Bilingual skills preferred.

CRT, Medical Terms and PC. Computer and/or Key Entry Experience

Work Schedule: Weekends, Holidays Flexible and Overtime


Equipment Operated:
Minor medical equipment, computer.
