Skills / Requirements

JOB SUMMARY:
Functions as a patient advocate for surgical patients throughout the preoperative period and provides clerical coordination of Elective Surgical Waiting List in conjunction with the Preoperative Screening Clinic and individual surgical services.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Specialized Training/Licensure: High School Graduate (or equivalent); College experience preferred

Work Experience: 2 years in acute inpatient or ambulatory health care; perioperative experience preferred

Equipment Operated: Typical office equipment (computer, copier, fax, etc...)

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Communication Skills:
Above Average Verbal (Heavy Public Contact) '
Exceptional Verbal (e.g., Public Speaking) '
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred

Other Skills:
Analytical, CRT, Medical Terms, P.C., Word Proc.'

Work Schedule: Flexible, Overtime, Eligible for Telecommute

Other Requirements: Experience utilizing intermediate concepts of Microsoft Office software, particularly EXCEL.
