Job Summary

The Phlebotomy Manager is responsible for managing the patient phlebotomy section within the assigned area, ensuring high-quality, efficient, and patient-centered services. This role provides leadership, direction, coordination, and administration for the Phlebotomy section/department while ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. The manager also monitors staff certifications, training, and competencies to ensure a skilled and knowledgeable team.

Act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) by conducting various assessments and review at assigned locations/department to ensure each clinic/department is in compliance with applicable local, state and federal guidelines, including, but not limited to, the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) of 1988, College of American Pathologists (CAP), Der Norske Veritas (DNV) and other regulatory standards.

This position collaborates with Laboratory Administration, Medical Director, nursing leadership, nursing staff, and Medical Staff to ascertain Harris Health needs related to laboratory services while ensuring activities are in accordance with College of American Pathologists (CAP), Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendment (CLIA), Der Norske Veritas (DNV) and other regulatory standards.

Minimum Qualifications

School Education: High School Diploma (or) GED

Degrees: Bachelors' degree or higher preferred

Licenses & Certifications: Certified Phlebotomist

Work Experience: Five (5) years work experience as a Phlebotomist

Management Experience: Three (3) years of phlebotomy manager/supervisor experience

Communication Skills: Above Average Verbal Communication (Heavy Public Contact), Writing/Correspondence, Writing/Reports

Proficiencies: MS Access, MS Excel, MS Word, Personal Computer

Job Attributes

Work Schedule: Flexible; including frequent travel between Harris Health facilities
