Skills / Requirements
Serves as leader of change agent. Performs patient evaluations and administers interventions while hospitalized. Performs related duties such as departmental performance improvement and clinical education, and serves as clinical supervisors to assistant and support personnel. .Participates in the design and implementation of decision making guidelines. Incorporates evidence-based practice in the patient management. Adheres to practice act, regulations and rules, departmental policy and procedure, and documentation and reimbursement rules applicable to acute care, inpatient rehabilitation, or skilled nursing facility. Participates in patient‘s case management with multidisciplinary team. Demonstrates competence to adapt work and customer service to accommodate the unique physical, psychosocial, cultural, safety and other developmental needs of patients.
Minimum Qualifications
Education/Specialized Training/Licensure: Transitional DPT in Physical Therapy. Current Texas license; Basic Life Support from a hospital-based American Heart Association (AHA) approved program.
Work Experience (Years and Area): Two (2) Years Work Experience as a PT. Will accept minimum 1 year experience as an PT with 2 years' experience as a PTA for candidates having experience as a PTA and have completed a bridge program to be licensed as an PT. Half (1/2) credit given for prior PTA experience, cap at 5 years of experience. 2 years as PT or graduate of a APTA credentialed Residency.

Communication Skills: Above Average Verbal (Heavy Public Contract), Exceptional Verbal (e.g., Public Speaking) , Languages: Spanish, Vietnamese preferred, Writing /Composing (Correspondence / Reports)

Work Schedule: Flexible
Other Requirements: Previous work experience or internship in acute care, inpatient rehab or skilled nursing setting is preferred.
