Job Summary

Work in a challenging but rewarding environment with like-minded, mission-oriented team members. The right candidate will be able to work collaboratively but independently, possess strong clinical and communication skills, and be highly accountable. This person should be comfortable performing intake health assessments, urgent care, chronic care, and emergency stabilizing care to individuals in custody at the Harris County Jail. The candidate may provide back-up/flexibility to the general provider workforce. 12-hour shifts and rotating weekends are required.

Minimum Qualifications

Degrees:
a) Bachelor of Science: Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant program by National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA), PA-C.

Work Experience:
a) Three (3) Years of Work Experience: Direct patient care in a hospital, community health clinic or urgent care environment. (Preferred)

Communication Skills:
a) Above average Verbal Communication (Heavy Public Contact)
b) Exceptional Verbal (Public Speaking)
c) Writing/ Correspondence
d) Writing/Reports

Proficiencies:
a) Personal Computer

Other Requirements: Request for leave must be submitted sixty (60) days in advance for approval to enable arrangements of schedule. CME consists of five
(5) business days per year. Notice must be given sixty (60) days in advance in order to make arrangements for coverage of services.
