Skills / Requirements

Project Director - The Project Director role within the Enterprise Project Management Office will have responsibility for all aspects of the delivery of their project including scope, schedule, quality, and budget. This individual must have demonstrated ability to lead and manage all strategic projects across Harris Health in a matrix organization. Candidate will have prior success in results-oriented project delivery and managing a high-performing project team to deliver solutions.

The position will require developing project related documentation including project management plans, risk management plans, communications plans, scope statements, project charters, work breakdown structures (WBS), project schedules, and closeout documentation. The Project Director will provide the SVP of the Enterprise Project Management Office and executive management with regular updates on project status and information for decision making.

This role will oversee the Population Health program/project at Harris Health System and provide oversight to all correctional health projects.

  TYPICAL DUTIES THAT MAY BE PERFORMED:

I.    Leadership skills:

  1. Provide leadership and direction for project teams through demonstration of personal initiative, practical knowledge of the position, and effective delegation of responsibilities.
  2. Acts as central point of contact for all project activities.
  3. Supervise and provide direction to project managers that are direct reports.
  4. Promote a teamwork environment.
  5. Coordinate efforts across appropriate IT groups, capital construction teams and project stakeholders (e.g., clinical and non-clinical departments).

II.  Project Management skills and Technical Knowledge:

  1. Develop and execute plans for the implementation of information system projects to support the objectives and goals of the System.
  2. Manage project resources to deliver project deliverables/solutions on time and within budget. This can include the hiring, mentoring, skill assessment, and training of project team members.
  3. Assign tasks to project team members.
  4. Monitor progress of team members against project plan.
  5. Monitor quality of team members’ work product.
  6. Work with SVP of EPMO to monitor project milestones and deliverables.
  7. Maintain documentation related to project as required by the EPMO.
  8. Manages the day-to-day tasks/activities for all resources assigned to project.  This includes ensuring that tasks are completed on time and roadblocks and/or obstacles are identified and communicated to appropriate management resources.
  9. Escalate to SVP of EPMO/Managers and/or Project Owners/Sponsors on actions that can impact project schedule, costs, or quality of deliverable
