Job Summary
The Quality Management Coordinator (QMC) is accountable for the coordination, implementation and evaluation of Harris Health System assigned quality program. The coordinator works with the Director of Quality to develop the performance improvement plan for the system. The QMC facilitates implementation of Health Care Criteria for Performance Excellence and provides reports relevant to achievement of goals. As Applicable, the QMC is accountable for coordination of the Harris Health System Quality Program and targeted outcomes achieved on assigned programs. The QMC provides ensures area care delivery, quality management, and staff utilization patterns are congruent with the Quality framework.
The QMC is responsible for creating and maintaining an environment that cultivates exemplary quality programs. As a member of the quality leadership team the QMC establishes a setting that supports professional practice. The QMC ensures compliance with standards established by professional quality organizations, national, state, and local regulatory agencies, and institutional policies and procedures. The QMC is accountable for quality programs that uphold high standards of integrity and ethical behavior.
Minimum Qualifications
1. Education/specialized training/licensure:
a. Current, valid Texas RN License
b. Graduation from an accredited school of nursing with a bachelor‘s degree in nursing. Masters degree in nursing or related field is preferred.
c. Basic Life Support from a hospital-based American Heart Association (AHA) approved program.
d. Cert Prof in Hlth Care Quality: Required within 2 years of hire
2. Work experience: Three years of work experience in related clinical area of practice (ICU or ER preferred).
3. Management experience: One year related management/leadership experience is required.
