Job Summary

The Service Line Coordinator (SLC) is responsible for supporting patient care and facilitating activities and processes associated with OR schedule, special equipment, instrumentation, inventory, and preference cards for a selected surgical service line. The SLC serves as the point of contact for products and functions; coordinates onboarding, competencies, and education for staff; and provides staffing support within the service line. The SLC also monitors and supports quality metrics within the service line. The SLC works closely with nurse clinicians and communicates effectively with the surgical and leadership teams. The SLC collaborates with anesthesia, surgeons, vendors and other units to ensure quality patient care and optimize the utilization of operating rooms.

Minimum Qualifications

Degree:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Diploma in Nursing; Graduate from an accredited school of Nursing

Licenses & Certifications:
Registered Nurse; Licensed to practice professional nursing in the State of Texas
Certified Perioperative Nurse (CNOR)
Basic Life Support from an American Heart Association or Red Red Cross approved program required (ACLS and PAL for Harris Health System Ambulatory Surgical Centers)
Other Certificates as required by unit/service line

Work Experience:
Three (3) years work experience of Operating Room RN experience
Two (2) Years Work Experience in specific Operating Room service line

Management Experience:
One (1) Year Clinical leadership as charge nurse or preceptor
Two (2) years of experience in management or supervisory capacity preferred.

Proficiencies:
MS Word, Personal Computer, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, MS Visio
