JOB SUMMARY

The Senior PI Specialist is responsible for driving progress of process improvement projects. The Senior PI Specialist will facilitate and coordinate quality, process, and performance improvement activities using Lean Six Sigma improvement methodology to maximize identification of process defects and replication of proven improvement strategies. The components of the process improvement program include, but are not limited to, appropriate prioritization of projects based on strategic goals, level of urgency and availability of robust data. The Senior PI Specialist works collaboratively with key stakeholders including process owners, organization leaders and physicians.

The Senior PI Specialist is responsible for review and analysis of assigned data to identify opportunities for improvement. The Sr. PI will identify subject matter experts to develop core teams, facilitate implementation plans, finalize control or monitoring plans, share best practices to allow for system-wide learning, and collaborate with System Committees to share knowledge leading to optimal outcomes and continuous education of process improvement across the organization. The Senior PI Specialist will lead improvement work at the local level and across the System. The Sr. PI will serve as faculty for training of Six Sigma Yellow and Green Belt Certification as part of the Performance Improvement Academy. The Sr. PI will serve as a mentor for training projects and will serve as a resource to coach improvement work beyond the Quality Department.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Degrees:
a) Bachelor's Degree: Nursing
b) Master's Degree: MSN or healthcare related field (Preferred)
c) Associates Degree: Nursing

Licenses & Certifications:
a) Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality: CPHQ Certification required within 12 months of hire
b) Lean Six Sigma Green Belt:Six Sigma Green Belt (SSGB) upon hire
c) Project Mgmt Professional: PMP Project Management Institute (Preferred)
d) Lean Six Sigma Black Belt: Lean Six Sigma Black Belt (LSSBB), or Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) (Preferred)
e) Registered Nurse: Current State of Texas RN license to practice professional nursing.
f) Basic Life Support: From an American Heart Association (AHA) or Red Cross approved program.

Work Experience:
a) Two (2) Years Work Experience:of project management or experience leading multidisciplinary teams is required

Management Experience:
a) Two (2) Years of Management Experience: charge nurse , program manager (Preferred)

Communication Skills:
a) Above Average Verbal (Heavy Public Contact): Will present work progress to multiple committees and leadership councils
b) Writing /Correspondence
c) Writing/ Reports
d) Exceptional Verbal (Public Speaking)

Proficiencies:
a) MS Office Suite: Advanced
b) PC

statistical testing, MSA, time studies)
2) Prefer working knowledge of or hands-on
experience developing and effectively using
simulation to solve complex business process
challenges
3) Prefer knowledge of project management
processes / methodologies and be able to
develop, lead and manage multiple projects,
utilizing PM framework
4) Must have solid presentation and computer skills
(Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Access, Excel, and
Project), statistical software (i.e. Minitab), and
prefer experience with simulation software
5) Self-motivated, proven communication skills, including listening skills, assertive
6) Demonstrated effective working relationship with physicians and leadership
7) Ability to work collaboratively with health care professionals at all levels to achieve established goals and improve quality outcomes.
8) Strong team facilitation skills including building trust and open communication regarding project issues and results
