Job Profile

Harris Health System seeks an experienced team member in healthcare informatics (Sr. Healthcare Data Analyst) to join its department of Population Health Transformation, which has oversight of the system’s transformative model of care encompassing the continuum of care coordination, social determinants of health, value-based financing strategies, community collaboration and outreach, and research and analytics.

The Sr. Healthcare Data Analyst will collaborate in a fast-paced team environment to foster a comprehensive, cohesive, and coordinated approach to the care of patients over time and across a continuum of care settings, with a focus on improving outcomes and/or lowering costs for high-risk populations.

The Sr. Healthcare Data Analyst is responsible for auditing processes, maintaining database and reporting integrity, developing reports, supporting program design, evaluation, and return-on-investment analyses, and supporting multiple projects within assigned pavilion. The auditing responsibilities include the review, analysis, monitoring of procedures, performance and systems management in relation to NCQA, medical home, and physician performance. Job responsibilities include development of reports and data analyses, and preparation of statistical and narrative reports based on Epic and other data sources. The selection of appropriate analytic methods and techniques for obtaining valid solutions is key to success in this role. The analyst will develop, maintain, and ensure quality control and assist in the development and implementation of measurement systems. Additional responsibilities include preparation of statistical and narrative reports from financial and operational reviews, and effectively communicating findings and recommendations to Sr. Management.

A successful candidate must be proficient in utilizing data analytic tools to analyze financial and operational data that identify process improvements and cost savings. The analyst will also perform other duties as assigned to support cost, access, and quality initiatives and must communicate effectively and appropriately with Harris Health System staff.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree in Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Computer Science or Healthcare Administration with a heavy emphasis in Health Informatics is preferred.

2. Five (5) or more years of experience with reporting and analytics with data analysis, extraction, and manipulation of health informatics. Program evaluation experience strongly preferred.

3. Training/experience with databases (SQL Server or MS Access) and reporting (Excel or Crystal) required with expertise in MS Office components including Word, Excel, and Visio. Experience with SharePoint and Epic a plus.

4. Five (5) or more years designing reports and developing executive level presentations.

5. Five (5) or more years of experience in a healthcare delivery or healthcare business setting preferred. Healthcare operations experience strongly preferred.
