Job Summary
Audiologists are experts in providing services in the prevention, diagnosis, and evidenced-based treatment of hearing and balance disorders for people of all ages. Hearing and balance disorders are complex with medical, psychological, physical, social, educational, and employment implications. Audiologists provide professional and personalized services to minimize the negative impact of these disorders, leading to improved outcomes and quality of life.
You will be tasked with diagnosing and assessing hearing and balance disorders by discussing symptoms with patients, testing patients, documenting results, and making appropriate referrals such as ENT consultations and hearing aid evaluations.This includes newborns to geriatric patients.You will also be the coordinator with the TEHDI program.The skills we are looking for are to be able to perform auditory brainstem response testing, otoacoustic emissions, visual reinforcement testing, conditioned play testing, behavioral testing, tympanometry, and acoustic reflex testing.The audiology staff complies with the American Speech and Hearing Association scope of practice in audiology which are the guidelines for clinical practice that govern their behavior and outlines the scope of their practice.
Minimum Qualifications
Degrees:
a) PHD/AuD: Must have CCC's or equivalent (preferred)
b) Masters (preferred)
c) Practicing Prior to 2007- Graduate degree in Communicative Sciences and Disorders, Certification of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A) issued from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). Current TX Licensure in Audiology
d) Practicing After to 2007 PHD/AUD in Communicative Sciences and Disorders, Certification of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A) issued from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). Current TX Licensure in Audiology
Licenses & Certifications:
a) Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech and Hearing Association: Current Texas License (preferred)
b) (ABA) from the American Board of Audiology: Current Texas License (preferred)
Work Experience:
a) Two (2) years' experience
