Job Summary

The Sterile Processing Technician III is a certified technician whose areas of responsibilities covering decontamination, assembling, sterilizing, storing, and distributing surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment according to established standards/guidelines. The SP Tech III demonstrates personal and professional effectiveness when working in an in-direct patient care department and addressing the request of the customer or provider.

Minimum Qualifications

Education:
High School Diploma or GED
AND
Central Service Technology Course/Or Equivalent Work Experience (at least one year experience in central sterile processing)

Licenses & Certifications:
One of the following: CRCST, CSPDT, or CRMST
AND
One of the following: CIS or CER

Work Experience:
a) Three (3) years' experience with Central Sterile Processing

Communication Skills:
a) Above Average Verbal Communication (Heavy Public Contact)
b) Writing/ Reports: Legible handwriting and coherent writing

Proficiencies:
a) PC: Skills must be appropriate to meet the job requirements
