Job Description

Job Summary
Resident physicians will be responsible for providing non-emergent primary care/emergency medical care for Harris Health System's Correctional Health division at Harris County Sheriff's Office and/or through telemedicine or other virtual health delivery technologies. Ensures organizational compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements. These clinicians will be responsible for all patient care activities related to licensure, which may include chronic care management, acute care, and care coordination. As applicable to licensure, these clinicians will practice urgent care or comprehensive primary care medicine including the provision of women's health and some office-based procedures.
Minimum Qualifications
Degree:
a) Doctor of Medicine: Hold a Doctorate of Allopathic or Osteopathic Medicine from an accredited school of medicine.
b) Residency Program: Currently enrolled in an ACGME-accredited Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Internal Medicine-Pediatrics, or Emergency Medicine residency program and in good standing.
Licenses & Certification:
a) Basic Life Support: Hold an unexpired certificate for Basic Life Support.
b) Medical Licensure in the State of Texas: Hold a valid Texas license to practice medicine and be registered as a physician in the State of Texas.
Work Experience:
a) 1 Year of Experience: Documenting with an electronic medical record
