Skills / Requirements

Job Summary
A Registered Respiratory Therapist has been validated by successful completion of the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) requirements for professional RCP license by the Texas Medical Board and has greater than 5 yeas of work experience in respiratory care.

Minimum Qualifications

Degrees:
Associate's Degree; Graduate of a Respiratory Care program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC) or other accrediting body approved by the advisory board.
Bachelor's Degree preferred; Graduate of a Respiratory Care program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC) or other accrediting body approved by the advisory board.

Licenses & Certifications:
-Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) from the National Board for Respiratory Care.
-Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required
-Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred
-Neonatal Resuscitation Program from American Association of Pediatrics (AAP) is mandatory for working in neonatal ICU (NRP may be obtained within 90 days of employment)
-Respiratory Care Practitioner from the Texas Medical Board

Work Experience: Five (5) year experience in a Respiratory Care Department as a practicing therapist.

Language Skills: Bilingual preferred

Communication Skills: Above Average Verbal Communication (Heavy Public Contact)
