JOB SUMMARY: The Interventional Cardiovascular Technician II (ICT II) is responsible for assisting the cardiologist in the performance of cardiac procedures while practicing and maintaining aseptic technique. The ICT II ensures that: needed supplies are available; all equipment is functioning properly and set-up correctly prior to the beginning of each case. The ICT II assists with the preparation and monitoring of patients in the catheterization lab suite. The ICT II works under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse and serves as a preceptor to clinical staff, medical staff, and ultrasound students.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Licensure/Specialized Training:
a. Education and Experience: Graduation from accredited Cardiovascular Technician program. Three (3) years of invasive cardiac experience required.
b. Licensure/Certification: Certification as a Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist required. ACLS and Basic Life Support from a hospital-based American Heart Association (AHA) approved program.
Management Experience: Two (2) years hospital experience required.
