JOB SUMMARY:
The Pediatric/Neonatal Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (PDCS) is proficient in providing high quality cardiac ultrasound images of the heart and great vessels, assessment of myocardial function, recording of hemodynamic measurements, and visualization of blood flow using 2D, M-mode, color-flow and spectral Doppler. Ultrasound procedures include: transthoracic and trans esophageal echocardiography ultrasound on neonatal and pediatric patients. These responsibilities will take place in various locations such as Level II, Level III NICU, and Newborn Follow up Clinic. The PDCS functions as a preceptor to staff and students, and assists with patient scheduling and procedures to ensure efficient workflow.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
High School Diploma or GED
Licenses & Certifications:
Reg Diag Cardiac Sonographer (OR) Reg Cardiac Sonographer through ARDMS or CCI, with second registry in Pediatric Echocardiography, AND Cert Cardiographic Tech
Work Experience:
3 Years of Hospital or Clinic experience
1 Year of Pediatric/Neonatal echo experience
Management Experience:
6 Months of Operational experience related to patient scheduling and flow is preferred
Communication Skills:
Above average verbal communication (Heavy Public Contact)
Work Schedule - Holidays, On-Call
