Skills / Requirements

JOB SUMMARY:
Administers patient treatments, supervises support personnel, and performs related duties such as participation in rounds, clinics, departmental performance improvement, and clinical education in accordance with state practice act, applicable regulations, and departmental policy and procedure. Demonstrates competence to adapt work and customer service assistance methods to accommodate the unique physical, psychosocial, cultural, safety and other developmental needs of patients served by the department.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Specialized Training/Licensure:
Certificate of Physical Therapist Assistant from APTA accredited school; Current or eligible for Texas License
Basic Life Support from a hospital-based American Heart Association (AHA) approved program.

Work Experience: None required. Six months preferred

Equipment Operated: Competency in Physical Therapy Equipment

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Above Average Verbal (Heavy Public Contact)
Exceptional Verbal (e.g., Public Speaking)
Bilingual Skills Required: Languages: Spanish, Vietnamese preferred
Writing /Composing (Correspondence/Reports)

Other Skills:
Analytical, CRT, Medical Terms, Research , P.C., MS Word

Advanced Education:
Advance Training-Specialty: Texas license or eligible for license
Associates Degree - Major: Certified PT Assistant from APTA accredited school.

Work Schedule: Flexible

Other Requirements: Membership in the American Physical Therapy Association is preferred. Must demonstrate competency in age-specific and job-specific criteria.
