Skills / Requirements

JOB SUMMARY:
Provides services to evaluate the of auditory status of patients with suspected ear abnormalities and/or auditory disorders through case history, clinical observation and diagnostic tests of auditory function; plan and participate in habilitative and rehabilitative programs for patients with auditory disorders. Serves as Newborn Hearing Screening Program Manager to assure compliance with Texas state law and regulations, quality monitoring of the program, and training/supervising of Audiology Technicians. Performs related duties such as participation in rounds, clinics, departmental performance improvement, and clinical education in accordance with state practice act, applicable regulations, and departmental policy and procedures.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Education/Specialized Training/Licensure: Graduate degree in Communicative Sciences and Disorders, Certification of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A) issued from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). Current TX Licensure in Audiology.
2. Work Experience: One year performing comprehensive auditory evaluations and treatment for adults, pediatrics and neonates. Neonatal diagnostic experience strongly desired.
3. Management Experience: One year of experience with authorization/billing; protocol development and public relations. May be concurrent with work experience.
4. Equipment Operated: Audiology equipment and computer software
