JOB SUMMARY
The Technical Writer (TW) provides advanced writing and editing skills in the preparation and publication of Harris Health System policies and procedures (P&P) and other key documents as assigned. The TW works closely with the Director, Information Technology (IT) Process Improvement and IT service/units to assure quality documentation of Harris Health's organizational expectations. The TW assists to facilitate compliance with writing standards established by the P&P Office. The TW performs periodic review, revision, and editing of P&P documents prior to publication and distribution. The TW gives meticulous attention to grammar, syntax, spelling, and punctuation. The TW consults with content specialists for technical accuracy, advises in the use of formatting according to Harris Health's approved P&P template, and possesses strong computer knowledge. The TW has advanced skills in active listening, communicating with others, information gathering and organization, active learning, creativity, persistence, visual interpretation, analyzing documents, and problem solving. The TW is upholds high standards of integrity and ethical behavior, mentors others, role models professionalism.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Specialized Training Licensure:
a) Bachelor's Degree : Graduation from an accredited school with a bachelor's degree in technical communication, English, Engineering, Journalism, or related field.
Work Experience:
a) 3 Years of Experience: of technical writing experience is required.
