Job Summary

The Vice President of Operations/Associate Administrator of Ambulatory Care Services (ACS) is responsible for the overall operations of assigned Ambulatory Services. As a direct report to the Executive Vice President of ACS and thru collaboration with the Chief Medical Officer, Chief of Staff, Vice Chairs and CNO of ACS, directly supervises the full array of clinical, ancillary and support services. The Vice President of Operations/Associate Administrator-ACS requires strong physician practice management skills within an ambulatory setting. This person also ensures the delivery of comprehensive, high quality patient-centered medical care, meeting the standards of all regulatory and licensing agencies and carries out all ambulatory care services according to the established policies of Harris Health System as approved by the Board of Trustees.

Minimum Qualifications

Degrees: Master of Business Administration or MPH, MHA or related degree

Work Experience: Ten (10) Years Work Experience Ambulatory operations within a large health care system; preferably within an academic practice environment

Management Experience: Five (5) Years of Management Experience with Direct physician practice management within a physician practice and/or multi-specialty practice within a large health care system.

Communication Skills: Above Average Verbal Communication (Heavy Public Contact), Exceptional Verbal (Public Speaking), Writing/Correspondence, Writing/Reports

Proficiencies: MS Excel, MS Word, Personal Computer

Other Requirements:

Healthcare experience with emphasis on improving workflow efficiency and patient-centered care.
Experience in physician relations, process improvement, and business development. ---Ability to package and articulate benefits of change/value propositions to physicians and staff.
Excellent human relations skilled required. Ability to understand referral trends and sources and interpret such data.
Strong project management skills and follow through from vision to execution with measurable results to the bottom line.
Able to instill a higher level of enthusiasm, energy and dedication to all employees.
Excellent team building and motivating people.
